Live lighter.

A healthier planet and a healthier lifestyle are important to all of us. Here are some tips to get you started.

What You Can Do For The Environment

Want to be environmentally conscious and reduce your footprint on the earth? Start small. Think big.

Because when we all do a little, it can add up to a lot.

  • What can you recycle? Plenty! Contact your local town hall to find out about recycling programs in your community. See a whole list.
  • Do you drive to work? See if your city has a Park and Ride, or post a carpool note in your local community center.
  • Want to calculate your impact on the environment? See your footprint at Earthlab.
  • Brushing your teeth? Always turn off the water until you need to rinse. You’ll save water (and maybe even hear the phone ring).
  • Have a green thumb? Whether you have an acre or a small piece of land, become one with the environment by planting your own tree. Watch it flourish as the years go by.
  • Running a quick errand or work near your home? Forgo your car, strap on a helmet and feel the breeze while riding a bike.

What You Can Do For You

Water is an important part of a healthy, active way of life. When you’re out and about, Ice Mountain® Brand Natural Spring Water bottled water is perfect for your busy, on-the-go lifestyle.

  • Get active. Head outside! Our country is filled with natural wonders. Find great ways to explore and enjoy the great outdoors.
  • Take 15. We can get so caught up at work that lunch hour means unwrapping a sandwich at your keyboard. Even if it’s just for 15 minutes, get outside and breathe in the fresh air.
  • Toss around a real ball. For one weekend, don’t get caught up in video games or "the big game" on TV. Instead, head to the backyard or local park and try playing a real sport with a friend or loved one. After the competition (and you) heat up, replenish with cold, refreshing water.
  • Consider switching some of those sugary beverages out for refreshing, cold water. In fact, drinking water instead of three sweetened drinks a week could save a staggering 6,084 grams of sugar over a year. That amounts to over 24,000 calories, and in a child, about seven pounds of weight!
